Temu Coupon Code Not Working? 7 Real Reasons (and Fixes)

You found a Temu coupon code, pasted it in at checkout, and got the dreaded "invalid code" message. Before you assume the code is fake, know this: in most cases the code is real, but one of Temu's conditions is silently blocking it. Here are the seven most common reasons — and what actually fixes each one.

1. The code is for new users only

This is the number one cause. The majority of high-value Temu codes (especially the "$100 off" style offers) only activate on accounts that have never placed an order. If you've ordered before — even once, even months ago — the code will be rejected.

2. There's a minimum order amount

Many codes only apply above a threshold — spend $30 to get $10 off, for example. Temu doesn't always make this obvious at the point of failure.

Fix: Check the code's terms (tap the coupon details in the Temu app under "Coupons & offers"). If you're a few dollars short, adding a cheap item can be worth it.

3. The code expired — sometimes within hours

Temu codes are unusually short-lived. App-exclusive and event codes can expire in 24–72 hours. A code that worked for someone in a YouTube video last month is very likely dead now.

Fix: Use codes from pages that show a recent verification date, and apply them immediately rather than saving them for later.

4. It only works in the app (or only on the website)

Some codes are channel-locked. The biggest discounts are frequently app-exclusive because Temu wants app installs, and a smaller set works only on temu.com.

Fix: Try the other channel. If you were on the website, open the app, go to "You" → "Coupons & offers" → "Enter code," and try there. Also try searching the code directly in the Temu search bar — some promotions activate that way.

5. It's restricted to certain categories or sellers

A code might apply only to clothing, only to items shipped by Temu (not third-party sellers), or exclude sale items. Your cart can look eligible while containing one item that disqualifies the whole code.

Fix: Test the code against a cart with a single, full-price, Temu-shipped item. If it works there, the problem is cart contents, not the code.

6. Region locks

Codes are frequently country-specific. A code shared by a US creator won't work on a Canadian, European, or Moroccan account, even though the site looks the same.

Fix: Make sure the source of the code mentions your country, and that your Temu app's region setting matches where you actually are.

7. Typos and formatting

Temu codes are case-insensitive, but a stray space at the beginning or end (common when copying from a website or PDF) will cause a rejection.
